Looking at an artwork can be a stimulating exercise as well as a thought-provoking experience. In this workshop participants will engage in a process of looking at works of art in various untraditional ways. The instructor, Ms. Shiroki, will enhance and lead the process of looking at art while participants build divergent thinking skills. Bring one of your artworks to this interactive workshop to see it in a new light. Watercolor activities will also stimulate fresh ways to approach your art. Expect to look at and contemplate works of art differently after this workshop.
Kathy Gaye Shiroki has over twenty years’ experience working in art museums and is currently at the Burchfield Penney Art Center and is Coordinator of the Czurles-Nelson Gallery and Lecturer at SUNY Buffalo State. She earned her MFA from the University of California, San Diego, BFA from Temple University, Tyler School of Art and Associates of Art from the Rochester Institute of Technology, School of American Craftsmen. Ms. Shiroki develops educational programming in which she invites visitors to enjoy the process of looking at art and questioning their surroundings.
